CHESAH FISH MARKET
BRINGING PEOPLE TOGETHER WITH FOOD
How did Chesah Fish Market get its name? The word tsesa means “chaser” in Palauan. In Palau, when we say tsesa, it refers to someone carrying out a plate of delicious food (chasers) to share, a favorite way of bringing family and friends together to celebrate and have a good time. I wanted to bring the word full circle and make it my own; thus, the spelling Chesah [pronounced CHEH-sah] Fish Market.

Alii! I was born and raised in Palau then moved to Oahu, Hawai’i in 2008. I have been spearfishing for many years; to me, it’s a way of life. I am also a professionally trained chef and have been a small business owner since I was 20. I am passionate about sharing my love for delicious, fresh food and fun times with great friends and the best way I know how to do that is through Chesah!

RUTH
DIVER/ADMIN
I was born on the mainland and moved to Oahu, Hawai’i in 2013. Since then, I have grown to enjoy many of the outdoor activities that Hawai’i has to offer. I began spearfishing in 2021 and still have a lot to learn but I love it! I take pride and joy in the knowledge that I can sustainably provide food for myself, my family, and my friends and I’m happy to be a part of sharing that with you! Aloha and God bless :)
